How early should you bring your child in for the first visit?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends scheduling your child’s first dental appointment when the first tooth appears, which usually occurs between the ages of 6 and 12 months. The earlier dental visits begin, the greater the likelihood of having a cavity-free, healthy smile (AAPD).
What should you expect for your first visit?
Your child’s first visit to North Augusta Dentist will be designed according to their age. This initial visit will help very young children become more comfortable with the idea of visiting the dentist, and they will be able to sit on their parents’ laps during the examination.
Following an evaluation of your child’s oral health, a home care program will be designed for your child. This will include recommendations for brushing and flossing, diet counseling, fluoride application, and the frequency of dental visits.
How will your children’s treatment change as they grow?
As your children grow, North Augusta Dentist will care for them and provide age-appropriate treatments. They will be treated in our pediatric dentistry program until they reach adolescence, at which point they will be transferred to our clinic’s General Dentistry area to continue their care.
What type of procedures do we perform for your child?
